Sidmouth grab winner in last 30 seconds

THEY left it late - extremely late - but Sidmouth on Saturday kept up their fine start to the season and with it their top spot in the Premier Division of the Exeter and District Football League.

The Vikings lost a 2-0 lead and it was only in the last half minute of the match that Andrew Thomson snatched the winner with a superb header.

Manager Paul Ashford said: "We are doing very well and I'm very pleased. But losing that 2-0 showed that not everything is right. Nevertheless, we are top and winning and that has to be good."

l Sidmouth are involved this weekend in a tough cup match at Stoke Gabriel, who play in the Peninsular League.

"It'll be a big test for us," said Paul Ashford.
