It was the Grandfathers Cup on Saturday at Sidmouth so a restricted field!, writes John Barnard.
Leading the way was Don Cooper with 39 points. A birdie on the fourteenth for four points was the highlight and the score would have been better, but bogies on the last two holes cost him some points. One of the younger Grandfathers was second.
Thirty-seven points and flying after birdies on holes two and thirteen, Neil Faulkner looked in with a chance of a win, but a no score on hole seventeen messed up the card.
Third was John Rockey, beating two other players on countback. John has been finding some consistency recently.
John managed a good birdie on fifteen, but he was always fighting to catch up after a poor start.
