These Sunday matches are a very popular form of golf, as they enable mixed couples to visit a range of interesting clubs and courses, play golf in a very sociable format , often making new friends in the process. Last but not least, the golf is usually followed by a most enjoyable Sunday roast, thus giving all the cooks among us the day off!

The Orr Cup was played for earlier this week (July 16) when 34 ladies took part, some playing through the early mist, although this cleared later to give us a sunny and very warm round.

The winner, on 38 points, who has her handicap reduced again, was Sue Billinghurst. Margaret Thompson with 37 points was second.
