The Sidmouth Jewellers Friday stableford was won convincingly this week by Graham Davies with 43 points, four better than the field, writes John Barnard.
Despite birdying the fourth, it wasn’t the best opening few holes, but after birdying the difficult seventh hole, Graham put together a solid round of golf, only one over gross for the last ten holes off his handicap of ten.
In second place, was Steve Johnston with 37 points. Four pars in the last seven holes off his handicap of seventeen pulled his round back together after not a great front nine.
He won on countback from Neil Holland who hasn’t figured in the prizes this year as much as usual.
Four birdies on the back nine recovered Neil’s round but a bogey on the seventeenth cost him a place.
