The Sidmouth Jewellers Friday stableford was won by Kevin Legg with 39 points, winning by one point, writes John Barnard.

He was going well with six three pointers, but a ‘blob’ on hole 13, usually one of the easier holes, cost him a better score, but did not affect the result.

John Welch was second and must have thought he was in with a great chance until he didn’t score on the eighteenth.

Nineteen points out and back showed some consistency. Strangely, neither of the first two entered the sweep so Mark Thomas in third place was the grateful recipient of the winning pot.

In the order of merit. David Burgess maintained his solid lead and surely now has an unassailable lead.
