The Sidmouth Jeweller’s Friday night league was won this week by Mark Thomas who has been quietly rising up the leader board in the Friday night league, showing he is returning to some good form, writes John Barnard.

He won this week with 40 points. He was heading for a good round after a steady front nine of 34 gross, but after birdying the 10th, a no score on the 11th halted his progress, but from thereon, he was under gross par to seal a good win.

There were two players on 39 points, but Kevin Legg took second place after a back nine made up of six pars, a birdie and two bogies.

Terry Jones was third with virtually the exact same score, but the congu system can cope and Kevin’s round was deemed the better, complements of a better last three holes.

In the Sidmouth Jewellers Friday Night league, Mark Thomas ‘leap frogged ‘to the top after his win with Kevin Legg now in second one point behind, closely followed by Harrison Jones.
