Friday was a wet day last week and, after Andy Pryke and Graham Davies ventured out, there were no more entrants for the Sidmouth Jewellers Stableford due to to the worsening conditions, writes Hugh Dorliac.
Thus these two plucky golfers fought it out for first and second place with Andy coming out on top with a creditable 37 points.
The Uppercrust Monday Stableford competition was played in better conditions, although there were showers on and off all day.
Having been persuaded to go out and play after saying he might head home and put his feet up instead, Howard Cushing came home in 40 points to win the competition.
Second, three points behind, was Graham Vincent and Chris Timms, who had gone out earlier in the day, was third.
