Neil Faulkner (Fred the bread) won the latest Sidmouth Jewellers Friday stableford at a canter, writes George Carr.
Faulkner dropped eight shots on the front nine, but came home in an impressive two-under-par gross for 41 points which left him three points clear of Steve Channing.
The latter, having birdied the first and triple bogeyed the third, played steady golf thereafter for his second spot.
CC (Chris) Roberts produced steady golf for his 37 points and third place.
The best gross score on the day was produced (as it often is) by Neil Holland who doesn’t have a handicap worth mentioning; however, his one under par 65 gained him only fourth place - it’s tough at the top folks!
