Archant

Thirty-nine players took to the Sidmouth course in glorious Bank Holiday sunshine to contest the latest Sidmouth Jewellers Friday stableford competition, writes Chris Roberts.

It was won, with an impressive score of 40 points, by Rob Wilmington.

The result means the Wilmington handicap is now cut by two shots.

James Spiller took second place with 38 points closely followed by George Barber and Jonathan Lee both on 37 points with the manager (Lee) scoring 21 points on the back nine and he must have been astonished to see Barber pip him with 22 to seal third spot!

James Spiller heads the Friday League by two points over John Jones with the chasing pack a further four points back.
