Sidmouth played host to a number of teams last week, all looking to be the latest team to lift the Sidmouth Jubilee Cup, writes Carol Smith.

The men go one better than us ladies and invite seven local teams to contest the cup and it all means that, with each team playing the others over four ends, the total of ends at the end of the competition is 28 played by each team.

Halfway through the competition a scrumptious tea was served by our ladies, which no doubt left the players suitably refuelled for the second half action – at the finish they were certainly refuelled from the bar!

When the scores were totted up, a Sidmouth team were just pipped to the post by a team from Lyme Regis.

The winning team had a score of plus 15 with the Sidmouth team, comprising Ray Tallent, Peter Bates, Ken Robertson and skip Bob Seldon, finishing with plus 13.
