This week saw Sidmouth RFC Under-7s and Under-8s have received splendid new kits courtesy of some generous sponsorships from Sidmouth business’s, Morris Lettings, Rob Wood and Dotty Home.

The new shirts, designed and made by Canterbury, whom also sponsor the senior section of the club, were delivered last week and the team were able to wear them for the first time in last weekend’s fixtures against Honiton.

Sidmouth Under-7 coach Simon Dunstan said: “We have worked hard over the past 12 months to fundraise for the 90 shirts we needed for the teams. Happily, and much of this is down to the wonderful sponsors who have stepped into the breach, and also some generous help fro the senior section of the club, we were able to provide this new kit to replace a miss match of old tops that were getting rather dogged and showing their age!

“The new strip that is the same as the Sidmouth Chiefs first team’s colours looks fantastic and you could see that the Under-7s were really proud to receive and wear the new shirts on Sunday. I cannot thank these local businesses more for their support without whom this wouldn’t have been possible.”

Jim Swales, a coach with the Under-8s added: “We’ve worked hard as coaches and as a team to raise these funds for the kit. Simon (Dunstan) did a great job in organising everything and our Under-8 team wore them with pride on Sunday also managing to get them very muddy and so the kids mums and dads have the pleasure of also giving them their first wash!”
