Sidmouth Kingswood Medal success for Will Hastie

On Saturday, in poor, wet conditions, a much-reduced field played for the annual Kingswood and Devoran Hotel medals, writes Hugh Dorliac.
Those brave enough to battle through the rain and drizzle all completed their rounds and the winners were, in Division One, Will Hastie with a creditable par round of 66. Second and third and somewhat adrift, were Richard Powell on 71 and Steve Crabb on 73.
The Division Two winner was Adrian Priest with 69, with Trevor Kerridge on 70 and Keith Newton on 71 close behind.
The winner of Division Three was Adrian Baldwin on 68. Due to the vagaries of the standard scratch that day, he was the only player to lose a stroke off his handicap! Friday’s Sidmouth Jewellers sponsored Friday stableford competition was won by Paul Hackett with 37 points.
As well as first prize he earned a reduction of one stroke from his handicap. John Welch was second with 36 points and Mike Knight was one point behind on 35.
The Upper Crust Monday Stableford leaderboard was headed this week by Alex Georgevic with an excellent 40 points.
Kym White missed his birdie on 18 and so ended up in second place, one point behind on 39.
On countback and also on 39 points was Adrian Haysom in third and I am sure he was pleased to see his handicap come down by one stroke.
