Sidmouth Ladies’ B Team have made a promising start to the summer season with two good wins.
First up they defeated Teign Valley before seeing off Torquay.
Captain Marlene Maynard paired up with Kate Truman in both matches and the pair continue this early season having yet to lose a set!
They did have to play a tie-break in the Teign Valley encounter before winning 7-6, 6-1, 6-3, 6-0.
Jackie Ensall and Gill Dolling were another pairing in the Teign Valley match and they comfortably won their first rubber 6-1, 6-1 before battling tenaciously to a second rubber success of 7-5, 6-1, to give Sidmouth an overall 8-0 victory.
In the Torquay match Maynard and Truman landed straight set victories with scores of 6-4, 7-6 and then 6-2, 6-1.
Ensall paired up with Sally Lockhart and the pair battled their way to a 3-6, 6-2, 10-3 triumph as Sidmouth claimed a 6-3 overall success.
