Sidmouth ladies bowl to victory against Ottery

It really was a very nice contest played against some dear friends. We had one successful rink and that was the one of Mary Smith, Sue Turner, Elaine Reed and skip Zena Johnson, who managed to win 22-6.

On Sunday there was more action when we entertained our friends from Ottery St. Mary.

Although Ottery only has an outdoor green, many of their members join Honiton for the long winter months.

We played three mixed rinks and won on all three, with the aggregate score being Sidmouth 59, Ottery 37.

The rink of Pam Manning, Joan Monagham, Allan Davis and skip Susie Bonnell were 23-14 winners whole, also enjoying success with a similar shot difference was the rink of Chris Radburn, Dave Lever, Mick Cox and skip Valerie Newnham, who were 19-10 winners.

A great afternoon was had by all and a big round of thanks is due to Mr Chris on the bar and Mrs Chrissie for the splendid teas we all enjoyed.

Bowling is just easing a little at present as we Christmas bears down upon us and of course that means – lots to do, for most!
