On Wednesday, Sidmouth ladies held a County Prize Par Competition, writes Maria Clapp.
During the night, the clouds opened and it also rained first thing. At one stage, I thought we were going to have to cancel yet again! Some of the greens did have small puddles of water on them!
It was a close competition once again! Jane Renken came in with a score of minus three and won the competition, on countback, from Maria Clapp, who also had a score of minus three.
Susan Hackett came third with a score of minus four. There were a brace of twos; Jane on the fifth and Maria on the fourth and so they share the pot. As large as the pot was that was won by Maria the previous week, this time round there was not such a reward!
The weather improved as we proceeded around the course. The course is looking lovely and huge thanks go to our conscientious greenkeepers.
