There were more ladies entered into the County Prize competition.
The course was slightly wet in patches, but considering the weather over the last few days, the course was in great condition and all the greens were open from the commencement of play. We were quite lucky with the weather, with just the odd short shower.
A County Prize competition is usually played on the first Wednesday of the month.
The format for this competition is a par competition. The winner on this occasion was Sue Hackett with a score of plus one which means she played her round one under her handicap! The minor places had to be sorted by countback with Maria Clapp edging Annie Carter into third after both ladies returned scores of minus three. These are excellent scores given the time of year and the conditions. Again there were no twos, though there were a number of near misses!
