You can always tell when a season is coming to a close - or beginning - and the 2016/17 Indoor season was no exception, when it held its annual closing event the ladies versus the gents match, played at the club on Easter Monday, writes Susie Bonnell.
The match ran over two sessions, 11am and 2pm, and, as always there was great rivalry between the genders to secure an overall win.
At the end of the first session the men were leading by a narrow margin of three shots.
That left plenty of leeway for the second session to push a win either way.
The session was opened by indoor men’s captain, Ron Cook, and acting ladies captain, Mary Turner and battle commenced!
There was lots of laughter and some really good bowling and guess what.......... the ladies won by eight shots! Well done, girls.
