Archant

It’s always a special occasion when Sidmouth host President’s Day and it was most certainly no exception this year when Devon County ladies association president Charlotte brought along her six rinks of teams gathered from all corners of Devon, writes Susie Bonnell.

Not only were there lots of laughter and banter, entertainment was also provided courtesy of some wayward seagull fledglings and a couple of squirrels getting in the way.

Before we go on let’s assure any concerned readers - no injuries to animals occurred in the making of the game!

Sidmouth provided a tea worthy of ‘tea at the Ritz - much enjoyed by all. Unfortunately, for Sidmouth ladies none of this stopped president Charlotte and her teams sealing a resounding victory, winning on all, but a single rink.

Sidmouth also had words of thanks to their friends at Ottery, who sent some of their ladies to make up the Sidmouth numbers.
