On Wednesday the Sidmouth ladies held their Invitation Day, writes Andrea Milton.
This event gives ladies the chance to invite a golfing friend from another club to play with them in the competition.
There was a good field of thirty six players and the competition was a four ball better ball.
The course was in great condition and the visiting ladies were very complimentary about it, and also the delicious refreshments enjoyed after the golf!
There were prizes of John Lewis vouchers for the first, second and third winners and sleeves of balls for any twos achieved.
You may also want to watch:
In third place, on countback, were Sheila Skittrall and her partner Rebecca Avon from Fingle Glen, with 41 points.
Second were Dorthe Fowler and Gill Whitehead, from Exeter Golf & Country Club, also on 41 points. And winning with a fabulous score of 51 were Sheila Tallon and her partner Eve Andrews, from Fingle Glen. They also had a two! The only other two was carded by Ros Eaton.

Also last week the DCLGA Express and Echo Shield Final was held at Torquay Golf Club. Sidmouth had two qualifying pairs, one silver and one bronze.
This large competition had 65 pairs competing and our bronze pair of Liz Chance sand Susan Hackett secured 26th place while our silver pair, Sheila Faulkner and Marie Timms, played a great game to come in fourth place, just five points off the leaders. Well done, to all this weeks winners!
