On Wednesday, Sidmouth ladies held a fun competition, writes Maria Clapp.

The format for the day was a Joker Stableford in which each player had to nominate a hole from the first nine holes and one from the second nine holes, before commencing their round. They would then double their points for those two holes.

The weather held out for most of play, although we did have the odd small shower. How lucky we were, especially as the forecast was not all that brilliant – and, as I write this report, the rain is positively lashing against my window!

The winner for the day was Andrea Milton, who chose her joker holes wisely. Andrea came in with 37 points. In second place, with 32 points, was Susan Hackett. Third place went to countback with Rosemary Norrish taking the honours with her score of 31 points.

Rosemary is one of our newer members. It is great to see her in the placings. Well done, Rosemary!

There were no twos in this meeting and so the pot runs over to next week!
