Sidmouth ladies sent two triples’ teams to play against Madeira in the latest round of the popular Over-50s League, writes Susie Bonnell.

The match was played in the midst of the current ‘heat wave’ and the players were hit by a couple of showers (which did help keep everyone cool), but it al turned out to be a competitive and fun game.

Both Sidmouth rinks were in the lead until the halfway point, but on one of the Madeira rinks, they managed to overtake and maintain a fee close lead, finishing 15-13 to Madeira.

However, Sidmouth (Wendy Limpus and her team of Karen Hollingdale and Anita Mason) steamed ahead to finish their game with a 24-10 score line.

With an aggregate score in Sidmouth’s favour it meant four points out of a possible six went to Sidmouth. Well done, ladies.
