On Wednesday, Sidmouth ladies held the Ping four-ball better ball competition, writes Maria Clapp.
Each player plays off 90 per cent of their handicap, thus making it a little more challenging for everybody! The weather was perfect, the views stunning and the course in great condition.
Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the day, especially playing with a partner. These are always great events.
The winners, with 42 points, were Gill Paddon and Mandy Furniss with the runners-up, just a point behind, Mo Kendall and Chris Cave. Another close event! This competition is a national competition, therefore, if Gill and Mandy’s score is in the region of other clubs’ winners, they will then go forward to the next round. There are prizes for the first and second placings. Ping will send them to us later in the season.
