Sidmouth ladies played in the first round of the Yetton Trophy against Torquay United, write Susie Bonnell.

Two teams were at home and two teams made the journey over to Torquay to compete in this Inter-Club National trophy match.

Sidmouth ladies knew they were up against the toughest of teams and so it proved as they went down on three of the four rinks.

Only one of the home teams, skipped by Chris Hamer, with Pat Ashton-Pritchard, Anita Mason and Zena Johnson, as lead one and two respectively, managed a winning score of 17-16, so very well done to them.

Again, there was some solid good team playing on the losing rinks, but it just wasn’t Sidmouth’s day. Perhaps we will have better luck in the first round of the Yetton Plate against Madeira on Saturday, November 1. Good luck, ladies.
