Dare-devil Ros Eaton, lady captain of Sidmouth Golf Club, and it must be noted, no longer in the first flush of youth, provides the high-light of this week’s report in every sense of the word, writes George Carr.
With her band of loyal supporters watching open-mouthed, in tandem with her instructor, she leapt into Saturday morning’s sunlit sky, at 15,000 feet a mere speck in the blue, and it was a very happy, not to say relieved and adrenalin filled, lady captain who made a perfect landing minutes later to cheers all around.
This fund-raising feat was kindly sponsored by her husband John and thanks to the generous support of club members and members of the public at large the total raised must be approaching a four figure sum – we will provide details in future reports.
Well done brave Ros and her loyal band of supporters.
