A new Sidmouth Leisure Centre Indoor Cricket League is under way and the first two matchdays have taken place.

The middle Sunday of October saw matchday one and the opening game of the new campaign ended with Clyst St George, who scored 112 runs, defeating Tipton St John (8) to bank the three points.

With the Sidmouth versus Ottery St Mary match being cancelled, the only other fixure on day one saw Newton Poppleford (77), defeat Clyst Hydon (76).

Matchday two (October 21) began with Ottery St Mary launching their campaign with a win over a Tipton side they restricted to a score of 108. Game two saw Clyst Hydon B score 115 to defeat Clyst St George (114).

Game three saw league newcomers Upottery beat Clyst Hydon A, the winners scoring 129, and the final game produced the biggest – and lowest – scores of the season, so far as Sidmouth chalked up a total of 157 and they then reduced Newton Poppleford to 67.
