Whilst a lot of minds have been focussed on the General Election and who to vote for - the Sidmouth Bowlers have kept their minds on the job in hand - to win matches, writes Susie Bonnell.

Election Day (June 8) saw a big match meeting for the Sidmouth men, who were playing Feniton in the second round of the Top Club competition.

It was an exciting bout of five disciplines. The two-wood singles played by Chris Nappin was first and despite being behind, dug in and won 21-17.

Next result was another win for the squad by Ray Tallent, playing the four-wood singles.

Now only one more win was needed and with the men’s pairs, Bill Sherman and Brian Smith racing ahead, the overall win was in the bag when Feniton conceded on the 18th end on an unassailable score of 30-8. So, well done, Sidmouth and good luck for the next round.
