The Sidmouth Leisure Centre Indoor Cricket League launched its first competition of 2018 with three matches.
First up was the meeting of Tipton St John and Clyst St George, with the latter taking the honours after they scored 122 and then restricted Tipton to 105.
Next onto the mat were Newton Poppleford, who scored 111 and then bundled Clyst Hydon A out for just 82.
The final game saw Sidmouth bat first and hit the day’s top score of 137, after which they contained Ottery St Mary’s reply to a close of 107 to win by 30 runs.
There are three more games this coming Sunday (January 14).
