Sidmouth ladies Over-50s Yellows had one of their favourite away games when they journeyed to Chagford, writes Susie Bonnell.
Of course the long journey left the travellers in need of a hearty lunch and having left Sidmouth in the rain, the weather cleared up to leave a beautiful summer’s day - just right for a pub garden pre-match lunch. The game proved to be a real toughie, with both rinks of triples battling for prime position.
At the 12th end both Sidmouth teams were trailing, but with six ends to go they launched a superb comeback which brought a win on one rink (Wendy Limpus (skip), Brenda Somerfield and Karen Hollingdale), and a tie on the other as they sealed a 32-30 win.
This meant five of the six points went home with Sidmouth.
