The combined men’s first and seconds, and the combined thirds and fourths, had home matches against East Devon, and the first and seconds saw a few key changes to the regular side, with the players finding it difficult to gel quickly.
The visitors took advantage of the home side’s disjointed play and claimed a 0-2 victory.
The third and fourth team game were able to make use of regular substitutions and at times played a good standard of hockey, but it was the visitors who maintained their composure and made more of their possession. East Devon scored once in the first half and twice in the second to claim a 0-3 victory.
This weekend will see the men’s first/second team travel to Dawlish to play Teign, while the men’s thirds/fourths will play the ladies’ first team in an intra-club game.
The only other confirmed fixture is for the ladies’ fourth team, who have a home fixture against Isca and Exeter Uni 5/6.
