Sidmouth Bowlers got 2017 off to a fun start with a drive on New Years day followed by a ‘champagne, Caviar and Chip Butty’ lunch, accompanied by Christmas cake and white stilton which went down a treat, writes Ron Cook.

The honours went to the team Joan Peel, Jenny Fricker and skip Dave Lever with a score of plus 15, closely followed by Barry Curwen, Chris Radburn and skip Bert Hague with plus 12.

Meanwhile the year of 2016 ended with some mixed results in the friendly matches, in which our lady skips Jill Bishop, Carol Smith and Elaine Reed turned in some great scores of 21, 15, 31, 9 and 35 11 respectively. Where were we Guys’s?

The Matadors continue to play well in the Potburys sponsored league completing another good win against Budleigh Salterton last Friday evening. This result maintains their position at the top of the league followed by the Beachcombers.
