Sidmouth Over-50s Blues hosted Exeter-based St Thomas in a midweek meeting, writes Susie Bonnell.

It proved to be a most successful day for the Blues, who have been nudged out of a win on a few occasions during this season’s campaign.

The Blues were on top form and secured a win on both rinks ensuring they banked the full six points available.

The highest scoring rink was the one skipped by Eileen Hewett and she, together with Jean Brimson and Zena Johnson won in impressive style to the tune of a 41-4 score line.

However, it would be unfair not to also mention the excellent win the other rink recorded. That was a 20-8 success by captain Jill Bishop and her team of Paddy Wrench and Pat Ashton Pritchard. Excellent work, ladies.
