Sidmouth Ladies Over-50s Yellow team were in action at Belmont in Exeter for their latest outing in what is a popular league competition, writes Susie Bonnell.

Of course, they made sure they enjoyed a pre-match pub lunch - in the aptly named inn, The Bowling Green - conveniently opposite the club’s rinks.

It was a beautiful day, a great lunch and most importantly, a terrific game of bowls.

The rink skipped by Wendy Limpus, together with Karen Hollingdale and Janice Quin were winners by a margin of eight shots.

The other Sidmouth triple were pipped to the post in the last few ends, but the overall score was sufficient to give Sidmouth four out of the available six points.
