A look through the latest seasons’ statistics across the three Sidmouth senior sides underline just why the club is enjoying such a fabulous season.

With four games remaining of their respective 18-game Francis Clark Devon League campaigns there are no fewer than 14 players who have all struck 250 or more league runs whilst each of the three teams boasts a number of big wicket takers!

In terms of the 1st XI stats it is Liam Lewis who leads the way – he is also currently the top run scorer in the entire Premier Division.

Lewis has accumulated 760 runs this season – Bradninch batsman Jackson Thompson who smashed a new league record of 222 recently - is the nearest to Lewis with 748 runs.

Lewis has an average of 69.1; that to is currently the best in the top flight.

Pete Randerson is next of the Sidmouth senior eleven batters. The former Tiverton Heathcoat man has 461 runs to date at an average of 41-9 and Anthony Griffiths sits third with his 429 runs at an average of 35.6.

Matt Coke has registered 375 runs so far at an average of 28.8 and Luke Bess, the hero of the hour up at North Devon last weekend is on 323 runs and an average so far of 35.9. The sixth senior side batter to be over 250 runs so far is Devon skipper Josh Bess who has hit 284 runs and currently averages 23.7.

Scott Barlow is the leading 1st XI wicket taker with 21 victims and a current average of 21-7. Three of his team mates each have 15 wickets, skipper Will Murray, Charlie Miles and Liam Lewis whilst Josh Bess is the fifth Sidmouth senior side bowler to have passed ten wickets for the season, he currently has 12 to his name.

The second eleven batting is led by Matt Hewer who, despite his duck last time out has 598 runs so far and a superb average of 59.8.

Saj Patidar is the ‘best of the rest’ with his 445 runs and an average of 37.1

Dan Powell has hit 362 runs and averages 40.2 whilst Declan Lines has scored 251 runs at an average of 20.9.

The current leading 2nd XI bowler is Nick Mansfield with 22 wickets whilst Charlie Dibble has 19 and there are two others with double figure wickets so far; Chris Collings with 14 and Fionn Wardropp with 10.

Teenager Harvey Sargent leads the third eleven batting stats with 447 runs to date and an average of 37.3.

Tom Overthrow, fresh from that century a fortnight ago, has scored 340 runs and is currently averaging over 50 whilst skipper Graham Munday, the star of last Saturday’s win, has scored 296 and the other with 250 plus runs is Joe Griffiths with 279.

The third eleven currently has a three-way tie for the top wicket taker with skipper Graham Munday, Harvey Sargent and Toby Seldon each having notched 19 wickets to date.
