Sidmouth Raiders Under-13s continued their splendid form this season with a 2-1 win away at CS Lions, writes Simon James

Raiders made a slick start with some neat inter-play from forwards Jamie Wyant, Cole Monaghan and Archie Rowe.

After being frustrated by a solid Lions’ defence, the break through came when a slick Scot Gibson pass freed Finlay Morgan to run on and open the scoring.

The Mid Devon side came back well, but got little change out of a solid Raiders back line in which Louis Stamp and Jamie Wyant again stood out. The Lions levelled from the penalty spot when seasoned goalkeeper Isaac James was adjudged to have brought down the on-coming opposition striker.

Feeling an injustice had been served Raiders were quickly back onto the front foot and a long ball drilled by Ben Latham found Will Lorkins who ran on to fire the ball home for what proved to be the winning goal.
