Okehampton 4, Sidmouth Raiders 0 Sidmouth Raiders Under-11s put in an excellent second half performance as they went down at high-flying second placed Okehampton, writes Alan Hallett.

Once again the Raiders Achilles heel struck as they conceded another early goal! Credit must be given to the slick home side on this occasion for the goal was one of real quality with a sweet strike into the top corner of the net.

In what continued to be a sluggish start to the game for the Raiders they shipped two more goals to trail 3-0 at half-time.

After the break it was a very different story! In contrast to the first half the Raiders were quickly into their stride. Freddie Squire saw a shot loop over everyone only for the home gloves man to make a fine save. Samuel Burhop caused the home defence problems with his direct running and the entire team started to win tackles and keep possession well. CJ Abbot looked to have scored as his free kick seemed to cross the line before the keeper clawed it out, but the referee waved play on. For a spell it was all Raiders as they turned up the pressure, but a harsh free-kick awarded to Okehampton was thumped into the net to make it four and complete the scoring.

Raiders can be mighty pleased with their second half effort!
