Sidmouth Raiders Under-11s were edged out 2-0 when they travelled to Mid Devon to play Cullompton Rangers in an Exeter and District Youth League Division Two game.

Raiders had travelled looking for an early Christmas present of all three points, but were denied any seasonal gifts from a strong and effective Cully team. Ollie Keast enhance still further his reputation as the best keeper in the division with some fine saves, and, with the help of a Yan Mercan goal line clearance, played a big part in Raiders being all square at the break.

In the second-half Sidmouth withstood Cullompton pressure until the home team opened their account with a top-notch effort. Raiders had their moments with Mercan and Jack Goodman in defence looking formidable, and the talented ‘Mr Consistent’, Freddie Dorman, wowed the spectators with his wing trickery. In the last five minutes Sidmouth pushed players up looking for an equaliser only for Cully to snatch another goal at the death.
