The Vikings second string lost 4-1 at home to Wellington Town Reserves.
Once again, player unavailability prevented Town from fielding a stronger side.
It was against the run of play when the Vikings fell behind on 15 minutes.
Liam Morrish levelled the score ten minutes later, but a defensive lapse saw the Somerset side take the lead into the interval.
Town were forced into a change as the ever dependable Mike Stamp had to leave the field.
Joe Miller twice went close and Rich Johnson failed to find the target when well placed as Town fought to level the tie.
A wind-assisted effort deceived Adam Bartlett to effectively end the contest and the fourth goal was added as a dejected Reserve side dropped points for the second week running
A team coach said: “We have an unprecedented amount of injuries within the club. Added to that, players are not available for various reasons and this leaves the managers of all three senior sides at the club, having their hands tied!”
On Saturday (October 31), the team travel to Upottery (2.15pm).
