What a great way to finish a Covid disjointed season!
A sunny Bank Holiday Sunday played host to the Sidmouth U14s boys versus Newton Abbot at Blackmore.
Our previous match against Newton Abbott, 18 months ago, was an unpleasant experience for Sidmouth as we were soundly beaten.
Thankfully, the boys showed great progress, despite conceding three early tries, we finished the first half with two of our own tries from Archie and Tom B.
As we went through our phases in the second half, we created a number of opportunities, which just didn’t quite go to hand. After conceding three tries, we then took control and got two tries of our own, again from Archie and Tom B, and a try from Player of the Match Toby Sanford bringing our final try tally to five.
So, despite the loss, we played some excellent rugby and showed how we have developed over the past 18 months, which bodes well for September.
