After many months of waiting, Sidmouth Rugby Club Under-8s were finally able to enjoy their first match of the season against Honiton.
Sidmouth were able to field two teams; including one all-girl side who played together for the first time.  For a number of the players, it was their first ever fixture for the club and all got stuck in from the start.
The coaches were immensely proud of everyone as they showed great team spirit and worked together well.
It was also a first in a year for the Colts, who entertained Topsham Colts at the Blackmore Field. The game was played in four quarters. The Colts had a squad of 25, all of whom played at least half a match.
Topsham, who had played the previous week using the covid modified laws, got off to a flying start to race into a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. Sidmouth rallied well for the remaining three sessions, and the final score was 5-28.
