Thirty-four Sidmouth Bowling Club members have returned from an enjoyable weekend break at the TLH Leisure Resort in Torquay, writes Chris Hamer.
This was the club’s 24th consecutive annual visit. Using the comfort of the Toorak Hotel as their ‘base’ the group celebrated victory in four of the five matches arranged against local clubs and also scooped most of the Bingo prizes as well as transforming one of the hotel lounges into a high-powered card school!
Such was the fun had by one and all that demand is already high for the 25th annual visit to take place in January 2016!
Back at Sidmouth there was a terrific Saturday evening’s entertainment in the shape of a Quiz Night organised and conducted by entertainments committee member John Greenaway.
Fourty members struggled to maintain Eggheads standards, but all scoring was at least respectable. It came as no surprise that the winning team was led by vice-chairman Jim Wrench.
