Sidmouth running club member Claire Ashby headed back to London following her successful marathon run there to compete in the Turks Head 10k event in Richmond, writes Terry Bewes.

This event is organised by the Bearcats Running Club which is based in the Turks Head pub and whose inspirational founder Caitlin Limmer is a great friend of Claire’s.

The very popular event attracted over 900 runners on a hot and sunny day along the flat and fast Thames tow path with Claire wearing the Mighty Green and returning a time of under 50 minutes.

A great community get-together took place back at headquarters after the race, complete with live groups.
