The 14th annual running of the Walking Stick competition took place at Sidmouth Golf Club with eleven seniors’ captains, past, present and future taking part.

Present incumbent, Hugh Dorliac, played a consistent game in the damp conditions to card 37 points stableford to win the trophy.

Second place went to next years captain, Bruce Harcourt, who was playing for the first time and who came in with 33 points.

After the match, the men were joined by their ladies for a delightful lunch at the club. Seniors captain welcomed everyone to the club and gave them a run down on the season so far.

The past captains were pleased to hear of the new putting green which has recently been built next to the clubhouse and many remarked on the fine state of the course.
