The annual running of the Famous Easterbrooks three-ball competition was subjected to some dampish conditions, writes Hugh Dorliac.
The winners, with a seven better than par score of 79 points, were Shaun Murphy, Charles Warren and Lawrence Hill.
Len Wright and partners Steve Nunn and Richard Seaver came second with 78 and, in third place, were Harrison and Terry Jones with Jeremy Holden on 77 points. The longest drive, a competition to try to beat past professional Algy Easterbrook’s drive with an old persimmon club, was won this year by Neil Holland.
? The Sidmouth Jewellers Stableford was won by Andy Pryke, this time out with a score of 37, with Graham Davies second with 36.
As the standard scratch for the day was up by one, both lost a shot off their handicap. The ever-present Kevin Legg was third.
? The Upper Crust Monday Stableford saw Peter Emery continuing his golfing renaissance with an impressive 41 points, pipping Kym White, also on 41 and Neil Holland on 38. All lost shots to their handicaps.
