Sidmouth Bowls Club held their last Sunset Umbrella of the 2014 summer season and once again the meeting was blessed with glorious late summer evening sunshine, writes Susie Bonnell.
The players’ laughter and loud banter rang around the sunlit green and a good appetite was worked up by all for the supper to follow.
Sylvia and Ron Cook had volunteered to cook a Chinese meal for 34 people and what a fantastic supper it was!
It didn’t take a fortune cookie to know that a great evening was going to be had by all. Ann England, who took on the role of organising these evening games for summer 2014, can rest up for the winter, knowing what a huge success she has made of them.
Ann had organised lots of prizes and thank you gifts, Rob Wheaton and his guitar provided the post dinner entertainment - along with the sing-along from the well-fed folk in the bar. Well done, to everyone.
