Sidmouth Girls’ latest teen team were in action at Sidford last Sunday when they took on sides from Exeter Saracens and Newton Abbott for their first game of the season.

The girls, 17 in the Sidmouth ranks, played two seven-a-side games that produced some rugby action that was great to watch. There were great attacking runs forward and some tremendous defensive tackling on show.

Sophie Moore, Robyn Hansford and Yasmine Whitrow were all on the score sheet with tries as the team won their opening contest 8-4.

The second game was another that entertained from first whistle to last with more surging runs coupled with die-hard tackling as well as lost of industry in all areas!

Hannah Vicary was amongst the scorers in another superb all-round show that ended with another victory, this time 8-3.
