Sidmouth’s Painter makes progress in County over-50s singles.

SIDMOUTH bowlers enjoyed a day out in Wells, playing the City of Wells Bowls Club.

Despite some heavy showers the match played to the end with an overall win for the City of Wells bowlers.

The best Sidmouth rink was Ralph Brooks, Jane Painter, Jean Green and Brian Smith 21-15. The day was such a success, that we hope to make it a bi-annual event, with the Wells bowlers looking forward to coming to Sidmouth.

Many thanks must go to Chris and Stuart Hamer for their superb arrangements, also to John Greenaway for the suggestion of an evening meal at Brent House near Weston-super Mare, which was very welcome. It really was a thoroughly entertaining day enjoyed in such great company.

Congratulations to Sidmouth’s Jane Painter for getting through to the next round of the County over-50’s singles. She played on the home rink against another Sidmouth player, Elaine Reed. We wish her every luck in the next round, which will also be played at Sidmouth.
