The Sidmouth Ladies held a Mixed Texas Scramble and a fun competition where the ladies invite the men to join them in mixed teams of four.

Thirteen teams ventured out on the golf course and fortunately the rain held off for most of the day and the winning team of Brian Rice, Ken Price, Maria Clapp and Marian Andrews, came in with an impressive score of 50.1.

The runners-up were John Eaton, Colin Mitchell, Ann Willoughby and Pauline Couldwell with a score of 51.9. Everyone seemed to enjoy the day and a total of £130 was raised, which will go towards the Captain’s charity, Sidmouth Memory Café and Admiral Nurse.

The ladies Sheelagh Creasy team had a home match against Stover, and despite the somewhat damp conditions, they had a very successful result, winning 6-1. The return match will be played at Stover on Monday, June 6.
