Sidmouth seniors’ captain Tony Stoyle selected Honiton as his away day venue this year which proved popular for those who’s golf game doesn’t travel too well, writes Hugh Dorliac.
With decent weather and a course in good condition, the competitors, playing both as individuals and as part of a three man team enjoyed their day and the excellent meal that followed.
The individual prize winner was Mark Laird on 37 points with Brian Rice in second with 35 and Brian Cole third on 32 on countback from fourth placed John Townsend. The team event was won by Brian Margison, Charles Brown and Dave Atkinson with 87 points ahead of Graham Rogers, John White and Ken Price.
Nearest the pin prizes were won by Colin Paddon and Chris Timms.
