Sidmouth head for the County Ground, Exeter, tomorrow looking to bag a sixth successive Francis Clark Devon League Premier Division win, writes Stephen Birley.

Win number five from five arrived in style at Fortified last Saturday with North Devon defeated by a margin of 93 runs.

Skipper Will Murray says: “We continue to play good positive cricket, but I am conscious of the need for us to guard against complacency. Exeter were turned over last time out by Exmouth and so will be looking to bounce back and the more we keep winning the bigger a scalp we present to other teams! It looks as if Bovey Tracey are going to match us blow for blow so we need to keep the pressure on them and winning at Exeter will, do that especially as after tomorrow we go to Plymouth before hosting Bovey Tracey at Fortfield on June 22.”

Liam Lewis struck his maiden Devon league top flight century and he and Matt Cooke once again gave their side the perfect start to set up the win over North Devon.

With the visitors making a three-figure start to the run chase it was Murray who ended the impressive knock of the North Devon South African opener after which a routine stroll to victory was the path the table toppers followed.
