Members of Sidmouth Tennis Club enjoyed some competitive yet friendly games in a Triples’ tournament organised by coach, Sue Wiltshire. Alongside the tennis, members gathered to raise funds for the charity Versus Arthritis.

Alex and Will Dove (sons of member Mel Dove) are running in this year’s London Marathon on October 2. Alex lives his life alongside psoriatic, rheumatoid arthritis, as does his father, Peter.

Diagnosed in 2018, Alex had two operations and tried various medications and therapies before being prescribed a literally life-changing ‘biologic’ - an injectable medication that treats his condition at the root cause. He is not entirely without pain, but his symptoms are minimised, so that he can get on with his life and work, even taking part in sports again.

After the tennis event, £244 has been raised so far for this worthwhile cause, with more donations being promised.
